AP Portfolio

0 comments

I'm very happy right now because my AP Portfolio has just arrived! I thought I wouldn't be able to display my best work at my graduation party, because I sent them off for the AP, but looks like I can now! They did pack it weird, because now the back of my robot painting has pastels from the leaf drawing smeared on it. Oh well...but I still don't have my score yet. Probably won't get that until mid-July.

And another thing to make me happy, I got my graduation present from my Great Aunt and Uncle yesterday; homemade perogies! Yummy! ^-^

Summer begins...soon?

Ross left for his camp job early today. I spent yesterday just hanging out with him, helping him pack, and eating a pineapple upsidedown cake his mom made (yummy!). His family gave me a graduation present; a flame bandana, and stationary so I can write to Ross while he's away. Yay! :) But, I'm sad right now because I know I'll miss him, but I hope he has a great time at camp, and besides, I'm going up to visit him at some point! (w00t!) I also need to get to work on his birthday present, which will be part of an in-joke between us. I'm not writing what it is just incase he gets the chance to check random journals online. Sorry, hun. ;)

Right now I'm making a list of things I want to do this summer, like books to read, art projects to do, etc. Last summer I got NOTHING done, so I have to try again this year. Maybe it's a good thing I don't have a job, because I have more time to do stuff I want. But I still wish I was earning extra money. I'll be learning how to make jewelry, so I'll see if I can sell those.

And I need to eventually study for that physics exams...keyword being "eventually." ;)

List 'o stuff

List 5 things that you don't like, 5 don'ts and 5 do's that refer to you. After doing so in your lj (or blog) tag another 5 people you want.

5 Things I Don't Like:
- Bitter days when it's too cold to even snow.
- Death and being afraid of it.
- Worrying too much over anything. Even if it's insignificant, I'll be thinking about it for awhile.
- People who get very upset and tailgate me when I drive the speed limit.
- My allergies and asthma, which prevents me from doing things or going places I want to.

5 Don'ts:
- Touch my artwork without permission...make that touch ANYONE'S artwork without permission. My mom touched a beautiful fabric piece that one of my teachers made that was hanging in one of the school offices, and she didn't understand why I was upset over her doing that. Touching artwork once won't damage it much, but thousands of grubby fingers poking it will.
- Make everything one huge competition against everyone. Being a little competitive in some things is fun for everyone, but unless you're going for an Olympic medal, chill out!
- Tell me that I'm wrong in what I believe, or think that your beliefs are superior.
- Believe that you're way better than anyone else in the world.
- Mock my hobbies or anything I make. Sure, I'll mock my own stuff, too, but sometimes it just hurts when anyone makes a mean comment about what I do or like.

5 Do's:
- Complement my artwork. Nothing gives me a reason to continue my work more than to hear that someone likes it.
- Relax, and stop being serious. Sure, I'll be serious at times, too, but if you take everything too seriously you'll have no fun at all.
- Let me help you with something. If I'm around you, and you're doing work of some kind, I'll offer to help because I'll feel bad just standing there. Allow me to do something.
- Make the best of any situation. When it rained on my class trip, instead of calling it the worst-day-ever like most people did, I just shrugged it off, pulled up the hood of my sweatshirt, and had a great time anyways.
- Listen to me when I start to stress over anything, because sometimes I just need to talk about it to someone before I would be able to get it off my mind. Even if it's something stupid, you don't have to say anything or give me advice. Just let me talk it out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
List ten things you enjoy, even when no one is around. What lowers your stress / blood pressure / anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal, and then tag five friends and ask them to post it to theirs.
1. Painting, especially with acrylics.
2. Drawing
3. Listening to the wind blowing through the trees on a nice day, or the rain and rumbling of a thunderstorm.
4. Typing out stories, even if they'll be shown to no one but me.
5. Being able to make people laugh because of my eccentric jewelry or funny t-shirts.
6. Holding my dog.
7. Watching a DVD of one of my favorite TV shows, like Mystery Science Theater 3000.
8. Knitting
9. Posing a new Transformer I bought on my desk or a shelf.
10. Reading a good book or fan fiction.
Well, I didn't get the camp job. :( I was hoping for it, but they had enough girl counselors already. Oh well. I'll check out Highland Park's camp tomorrow, but I don't know what I'm going to do.
Maybe I'll just stick around here and do more babysitting or help neighbors around their homes for the summer. Who knows what I'll do. I would just like to do something to keep me busy and earn money at the same time. Doing some art project would be cool, like commissioned works, or making jewelry to sell. I should put my creative talents to use. ;)
And I've decided that I'm not applying to Wendy's at all. *throws out application*
Now, to get a lot of this skewl stuff done so I won't be busy with it during the weekend...
There's only 5 days of classes left before I am FREE! Still busy during them though. Good news about my summer job search is that I have an interview tomorrow for a possible camp job! w00t! I'm not that nervous about it right now, but I know I will be around 2pm when I leave for the interview.
And that is your mini update. Good fight, good night. (/Johnny Gomez)
