Just a couple notes

-The Schoolies are rockin' Trivia lately. Second place twice in a row! One week with 196.5 points, and yesterday with 80-pi (we were one of two teams to get the last question right, which was why our score was so low. :p)

-Interview With The Vampire is an amazing book. I was so into reading it one night that I stayed up reading until my eyes were so tired that the words were all blurry on the page. I went out and bought The Vampire Lestat and Queen of The Damned so I can continue the series when I'm done with that book.

-I've got two more squares done on my shawl, the body and the base of the penguin done, and I started making this afghan in a yarn that Man gave me for Christmas:

Here's the pictures:

The penguin.

The shawl.

Detail shot of the shawl. The flash washed it out, so I took the photo without flash, which is why the color is darker. But you can see the pattern.

Here's the blanket! The yarn is Caron Rainbow Dreams in the Jet Stream color. This blanket is made with holding two strands of yarn together, which is why there's two skeins in the picture.

Detail shot of the pattern in the blanket.

-I'm almost done with Kingdom Hearts!!!!! I can go finish the game and beat the last boss, but I want to do the sidequests and get some other things done so I can get the secret ending. :) Other than that, plus beating the GBA game, Kingdom Hearts II is on the horizon. Yaaay!

That is all I can think of for now, so I'll leave you with a picture of my little dog, Paddy, that will make you go "awww."

Awwwwwwwww! :D

So, after buying myself my first digital camera, I've been having fun playing with it. And I also decided to take some pictures of a couple of my WIPs.

This is the Mitered Squares Triangle Shawl. I'm making it out of Lion Brand Pound of Love yarn in denim blue. Basically it's being made one square at a time, and I'm attaching it by picking up stitches along the sides of the already made squares. It starts flat, but as I go along it makes a V shape as I knit a couple stitches together every other row. It's started from the bottom of the shawl up, so the last thing being made is the top of it. I'm still going for making the 72 inch wide version, but we'll see...

This is going to be the stuffed baby penguin chick for Rich. I'm using the same acrylic yarn, Canadiana, that I used in the first one, but I'm also using JoAnn Fabric's "Mink" yarn, which is why it looks so fuzzy soft. :) This part is the body and the head of the penguin. It'll look adorable once it's done.

And that is all. I leave you now with a picture of Joel acting like a tough guy.

RARRR!

Rich's penguin went on a fish-eating binge.

Isn't it even cuter? :D

I've been on pretty much a vampire craze right now. More specifically an Anne Rice vampire craze. I've been listening to the Queen of the Damned soundtrack constantly, and watched the movie a few days ago. So, in the middle of my knitting supply shopping expedition, I stopped at Barnes and Noble and bought Interview With The Vampire. I've been wanting to read this book for awhile, so this should be fun.

Finished Object time. Yaaaay!

I have finished three projects recently; a dice bag, the super-secret-project, and a new one that took me a day to finish. For your viewing pleasure, here's pics of them.

First up, the dice bag. It was fun to do, and I like it. It's a drawstring bag, so I i-corded a drawstring for it. The colors are supposed to be red, black, and white, but the camera made the colors come out funky, and I couldn't really fix it in photoshop. Oh well.

Next up is the super-secret-project!

It's a stuffed husky dog! This was part of my birthday present to Man, so I couldn't talk about it on here since she's the one that probably reads my blog the most. I made the husky out of Frog Tree alpaca yarn, and it's wicked soft!

Awwwwww! :D

And lastly, my newest project. A few days ago I showed Rich a pattern for a penguin online, and some from my stuffed animal book. Since he really liked penguins, he asked me to make one, or a lot, for him. :) So, after a journey to find the right yarn, and almost a whole day of knitting and sewing, I made this:

It's really cute! I used the same beady little eyes that I had on the husky. The picture in the pattern shows the penguin as being more pudgy: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/PATTpasha.html, plus the penguin seems to not hold its shape a little, so it needs just a wee bit more stuffing. Other than that, Rich was really happy when I showed him the pictures of the penguin.

That's all, and now I'm going to continue working on what would've been my poncho, but is now going to be this lovely shawl: http://www.straw.com/cpy/patterns/merino-stripes-miter-shawl.html Yaaaay.

So, I broke my little rule of not buying anymore games until I finish one, and bought Yoshi's Island for Gameboy Advance (GBA.) I've played the game before, only on the SNES, and I remembered it when I saw it at Circuit City. So I picked it up a couple days ago...

Addicting.

I love this game! It may look kiddie with the bright colors, but that may just be an effect from the drugs that seeps through the gameboy from the cartridge to make me want to keep going back and playing this game until I get 100% on all the levels...which I've done so far on world 1, by the way. ;) It's an earlier version of Yoshi's Story, and I can see the things borrowed from it to make that N64 game. The story behind Yoshi's Island is that Yoshi has to take baby Mario and reunite him with baby Luigi, all while avoiding the evil Kamek, who tried to kidnap both the brothers in the first place. There's also a Mario Bros Classic game on here, which is really an updated version of the VS game in Mario 3.

I stayed up until 2:30am the first day I bought this playing both of these games.

Please help me...
