Me so happy!

Two good things happened today while I was out shopping.

- Found Kingdom Hearts II at Target on sale for $38. Even though I'm not done with the first one or the GBA game, I picked it up. Better than waiting until I'm done and then getting it for $50, right?

- Bought the original Metriod game for GBA at Circuit City. Thought I was going to pay $15 for it, but the sale there was still going on, so I paid $10.

Wicked sweet day today. And now, off to make a late lunch and play Metriod.

So, I've abandoned my idea for an afghan after going through about 10 different patterns and getting one row done before saying "Nah, changed my mind," and now I'm making this poncho:
http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring04/PATTglamouflage.html Don't worry, it's not in the same colors, or with any fun fur yarn. The main color of it will be denim blue, with white yarn replacing the spots where the fun fur is.

And I'm not actually sure if I look good in a poncho...oh well. :)

Wow...

I have way too many knitting projects:

-Two dice bags made with sock yarn: One just needs the bottom, and the other is about 1/5 done.
-Cardigan for my mom in a soft fuzzy yarn: I've got about 6 inches of the back done.
-Super-secret-project-that-I-should've-finished-by-now: 70% done.
-Felted bag in rainbow yarn: It was about 1/5 done, but it's going to be frogged and put on hold.
-Skully sweater: The back is almost done, but it's on hold because working with pure wool in the summer wouldn't be too good.
-Afghan that I started last night: Barely started. I'm going to make a bunch of little squares with different stitch patterns, alternating between denim blue and antique white, and long strips of a solid color, and sew them together. I'll need about 10 squares per row, each square is 4" long, and I don't know how many rows of the little squares I'm doing. I have two done.
-Silk hat I started months ago: No idea.

And I just know I'm going to start one or two more projects before I finish any of these. That's just me I guess. :)

Next Gen Game Consoles (AKA: Sorry Sony...)

So, as most of you know, I love my Playstation 2. I love my Final Fantasy games on it, and I love a lot of my Playstation games. We may have an XBox, but I only play it for Halo 2, and we don't own a Gamecube. Naturally you'd think I'd be jumping up and down excited to get a Playstation 3, especially with the announcements of Final Fantasy XII and XIII.

Well, it looks like I'll be passing up on the PS3 for a long time. Why?

A.) The damn thing costs over $600 for the GOOD package. The basic core package, which has very little in it, costs $500.

B.) The games will cost $70. I hate paying $50 for games, and 20 bucks tacked on to the pricetag doesn't help.

C.) $600?!

D.) There are rumors that the PS3 will have a system on it where when you first play a game on it, it'll read a code off the disk, and that disk will become only playable for that system. This means no used games, and no borrowing games or lending them out to people. Also, if your PS3 breaks down (which a lot of Playstations have the tendency to do apparently), you're S.O.L. with playing the games you have, and would have to buy new ones to play them again. It's still a rumor, but Sony did recently patent this technology, so who knows...

E.) $600!!!!

So, yeah, I might be passing up on the PS3 for quite some time. I wasn't planning on getting it right away until the latest Final Fantasy game came out for PS3, but still...my PS2 is working fine, so whatever. I found my PS2 slim to be expensive at almost $130. So, if there's any next-generation console I'll be getting anytime soon, it's going to be the more reasonable Nintendo Wii, which is $200 because Nintendo is, I dunno, SMART! (Plus for Super Smash Brothers Brawl and the very fun game Mario Kart: Double Dash for Gamecube. I blame Phil for having me play and end up loving that game.)

The end, and now back to knitting my dice bag, which I realized yesterday is going to be the same colors as my college colors. Yay, Red Dragons! :)

F.E.A.R.

Woohoo! I just picked up the PC game that I wanted to get for quite a while. It's a first person shooter game called F.E.A.R. that is supposed to be really scary. I can't wait to try it, but I've also got many other games to play, including ones I borrowed from someone, which I should probably get to first. (And some of those are Final Fantasy games, which means I'll be busy for awhile. ;) ) I also suspect my brother will steal my laptop from me a few times to play this game since his computer most likely won't be able to support it. Oh well, I'll just steal his Xbox when he does. >:)

EDIT: Holy shit! I just opened the box and saw that I have 5 DISKS to install on my computer! What the fuck?! Is this like a Final Fantasy game where I have to switch disks when I get to a certain point? If so, damn this is going to be a long game...

Excellent.

Late night strolls

You know, walking around campus from 12:30am t0 2:45am can be a lot of fun. :) Yep, I was out walking around last night with someone I had been talking to online. He was in my Western Civ class last semester, but we hadn't talked a lot until recently. He was talking to me on Phil's screenname a couple days ago, and it's great to get to know another person who likes Transformers. Anyway, it was a fun night, and I surprisingly wasn't too tired for my 10am class.

Yay. :)
